Integration

Publish to WordPress. No plugin needed.

Connect your WordPress site once. CitedSEO publishes approved articles, reads your existing posts so it knows what you’ve covered and can link to them, and keeps its own posts fresh without changing their URL.

How it connects

Connect once, then approve.

  1. Connect

Click connect and approve on your own wp-admin. WordPress creates an application password just for CitedSEO. Nothing to install or copy.

  2. We read your posts

Your published posts are read on connect, so new articles build on what you’ve written instead of repeating it.

  3. You approve, we publish

Every new article and every change waits for your OK. Approve it, skip it, or let autopilot publish.

Two-way

It reads your site, not just writes to it.

Most tools only push content out. CitedSEO also reads what’s already on your site, so new articles link to your posts instead of repeating them, and its own posts can be improved later without moving them.

  • Updates keep the same URL, so rankings carry over.
  • Each post is matched to its article by a mark in its content, never by its title.
  • Disconnecting revokes the password and leaves every post where it is.

What’s included

What it does with WordPress.

  • Publishes articles

Approved articles go straight into WordPress, ready to go live.

  • Featured images

The cover image lands as your featured image, with alt text.

  • Updates in place

Articles CitedSEO wrote are refreshed in place: title and body only, same URL. Posts you wrote are never edited.

  • The right post, every time

Each post is matched to its article by a mark in its content and its post id, so an update never lands on the wrong post.

  • Review before live

With autopilot off, every finished change waits for your OK before it reaches your site.

WordPress, answered.

Get in touch
Do I have to install a plugin?

No. The connection uses WordPress’s built-in application passwords (in WordPress since 5.6) and its standard REST API. You approve the connection on your own wp-admin.

Can it update posts it didn’t write?

CitedSEO only updates the articles it wrote. Your own posts are read so new articles can link to them, but they’re never edited.

Does it work with WordPress.com?

It connects with an application password over https, so a WordPress.com plan that gives you application passwords and the REST API works the same way as a self-hosted site.

Will it overwrite a post I edited myself?

Posts you wrote are never touched. For articles CitedSEO wrote, ask for changes in CitedSEO: each update is made on our latest version, so an edit made only in WordPress would be replaced by the next update.

Does it update my Yoast or Rank Math snippet?

No. CitedSEO sets the post’s own title and excerpt. Yoast and Rank Math keep their title and description in their own fields, which the WordPress connection doesn’t write, so set those in the plugin.

What happens if I disconnect?

We revoke the application password and stop publishing. Everything already published stays exactly where it is.
