See your page the way Google outlines it.

  10. H2

    Iced latte

Same as an earlier heading. Name this section differently.

How it works

Three steps, a few seconds.

  1. Enter a page

Any public page on any site.

  2. We map the headings

Every H1 to H6 in order, read from the page as a browser shows it, menus and footer included.

  3. Tidy the outline

Each problem flagged on its heading, with what to change, and suggestions kept apart from fixes.

What it checks

What the checker flags.

  • One H1

A main heading, and only one, so the page says plainly what it’s about.

  • Skipped levels

An H4 straight after an H2, which breaks the outline for screen readers and crawlers.

  • Question headings

How many headings ask a question the way people search for it.

    What is this?
  • Length

Headings that are empty, too long, or a single vague word.

  • Duplicates

The same heading used twice, which makes sections hard to tell apart.

  • Your keyword

Add one and we check whether it’s in the H1 and in each main section’s H2.

Opportunity queue

CitedSEO writes every article to a clean outline.

Question headings, one H1, no skipped levels, and an answer straight under each heading. Existing pages get the same treatment when they’re refreshed.

Get in touch
Do headings affect rankings?

They help search engines and AI engines understand how a page is organised and which part answers which question. A clear outline makes the page easier to rank and to quote.

Can a page have more than one H1?

It won’t break anything, but one H1 that says what the page is about is clearer for readers and search engines alike.

Does it see headings added by JavaScript?

Yes. We read the page as a browser shows it, after its scripts have run, menus and footer included.

Which pages can it check?

Any public page. Pages behind a login, on a private network, or behind a bot check can’t be read, and we say so rather than show an empty outline.

Do I need an email?

No. The full outline shows as soon as it’s read.
