Fix the basics, and check Google can read you
Fix the basics, and check Google can read you
Titles, descriptions, headings and schema on every page, and proof that the pages are indexed.
8 minute video
The steps
Give every page a unique title that says what it is, with the main words first.
Write a meta description that answers why someone should click.
Use one H1 per page, then H2s for each section, in order.
Add schema: Organization on the home page, Article on posts, Product on products.
A few days after submitting your sitemap, open Pages in Search Console. Fix anything listed as not indexed: a stray noindex tag, a blocked page, or a page that redirects.
Open your site on a phone. If it’s slow or hard to read, fix that before writing anything new.
